Many Samsung devices have had problems with the charge even after cleaning port, changing charge adapter and cables etc...Would One UI 7.0 actually fix charge related software bugs or is it likely the problem would remain?

Not sure but most people will probably have to wait March-May for One UI 7 update to be available. Between then just keep checking your software updates and look out if Samsung gives an update..
