I found a work-around on my wife's phone.Uninstall the Updates from Google maps then restart.You can then go a step further to prevent automatic updates in future.I'd not suggest removing updates normally, but this is the exception.

My wife's phone has the exact same problem.Samsung A55 256Gb.We used the Samsung migration app to copy everything from the previous phone.Did you others do that too or wheres yours setup as new?
