Standard mode (60hz) saves battery life when you are continuously touching your phone display like gaming or social media. If you are not using your phone or not touching on screen like watching movies you can set display mode to adaptive (120hz) to save battery. Because it goes to 45hz while you don't touch the screen. This is my personal experience with S series but can't say about other series.

I'm referring to Adaptive Battery not Adaptive Refresh Rate...

Not Battery Saver, it's Adaptive Battery, something entirely different from Power Saver...

Have you tried with that setting turned off? I've heard that for some, having that off saves more battery.

I also tried that when some of them said turning it off would give more battery life. ..but in my experience it was a false statement..turning it on gives better battery life

Kind of same experience here. With:
Adaptive Battery off
5G on
120 Hz on
RAM Plus on
My phone came from 93% to 23% with just 2 hours of S.O.T., whereas with Adaptive Battery On, it would be 2.5 to 3.5 hours.
