*URGENT: Samsung S22 Plus Motherboard Failure After Software Update!*
Fellow Samsung users,
I'm sounding the alarm! My Samsung S22 Plus (purchased March 2022) suddenly died after a software update.
Diagnosis: Motherboard failure!
*The Shocking Part:* Samsung wants me to pay ₹30-35,000 for repairs, despite being a loyal customer using flagship phones since 2013 (S3, S6, Note 5, Note 9, S22 Plus, and S23 Ultra).
*Questions:* 1. Has anyone else experienced motherboard failure after a software update?
2. How did you resolve the issue?
 3. Is Samsung's response acceptable?
 *Demands:*
1. Investigate software-related manufacturing defects. 2. Provide fair support for loyal customers. 3. Review guidelines to prioritize customer satisfaction. Share your thoughts! Let's hold Samsung accountable for quality and customer care.

I faced the exact same issue with my S22 ultra in June. Phone stuck in bootloop after running for an hour post update.

Service centered declared the motherboard dead. Quoted me ₹45k. Gave me all nonsense explanation that it is not possible since every update is first tested and there are no such complaints and no announcement from company to repair this for free, etc.

Escalated with Samsung. After engaging in multiple calls with a guy from "Head Office", these are my observations:
1. The HO person could not find any record of me submitting my phone to service center for diagnosis which means they did not feed any record of the same when I first got it diagnosed at service center. Unprofessional.

2. HO person asked me to submit the phone again for generating a diagnostic report and based on that he promised to provide a reasonable resolution.

3. After around 1.5 weeks, he calls me and asks if I dropped the phone at Authorised Service Center. Seem to me he was not able to reach a service center contracted by Samsung. Thankfully he was able to get in contact or they would have told me we don't have any idea where you dropped your phone. I wonder if that's what they would do if for some reason service center loses some device or someone insider steals. Again, unprofessional.

4. After another week, I'm told that my phone has water damage. I said I have not exposed it to any water other than light rain which it should be perfectly fine with as it is IP68. He says the water entered through charging port and damaged the PCB and the battery is also swollen. Given all this and since you got a screen replacement 3 months back, we can give you a 50% discount on previous quote i.e. We'll replace motherboard, battery and backpanel for 24k. That's the max we can do.

I was so mad at all this since I'm not at fault here, why should I pay even a rupee. Also, I didn't want to spend any extra money on the phone after having the screen already replaced for 21k since there's no guarantee if another update will not brick the phone in a month or two and I'll be back to spending more on the phone.

I then decided to get it repaired in local market and try to let it away in some exchange offer if I get good value and that was a bad decision as I ended up spending 8.5k to have the phone running for just a few hours and back to same problem. Now the phone is resting in peace in my desk since then.

BUT a thin to note is when I got the phone opened at repair shop, there was no water or battery damage detected whatsoever which means Samsung after sales support is just pathetic of all because that's not the experience you are looking for buying the most premium product of the company.

A perfectly good phone ruined by bad awful after sales support.
