Recently, I encountered a display issue with my S21FE. While visiting the store to have it fixed, I became curious about the cause of the problem. In this thread, I will share details about the issue and provide some tips on how to avoid green lines on your device.

It's important to note that this issue is not related to software, rather it is related to hardware. I had a brief discussion with Samsung's engineer, and below is the summary.

Reason: This line on the display is commonly occurring on devices that frequently receive updates from Samsung. When updating the device, the display panel is affected due to overheating.

To avoid this issue, please take the following precautions:

1. Avoid updating your phone during the day when you are using it frequently.

2. Ensure that your device has a battery charge of more than 70% during the update.

3. Do not install the update while the device is charging.

4. Allow your device to rest after downloading the update before installing it.

5. If you are a gamer, maintain an acceptable temperature for your device. Samsung devices are designed for productivity, not gaming.

6. If possible, choose a cool room temperature when updating your device.

Brief : Avoid overheating to avoid line on display.

I want to agree from your observation but one thing is there which is keeping me from agreeing it- see, you said the lines are coming due to overheating. I am a gamer, and the device heats the most when you are gaming. If heating was the problem it should have appeared while playing games, but it never appread at that time. I asked various members who faced this line problem, some play games some donot, some has AC in rooms, some don't, but still line appread. So I am definitely sure it's not the heating which is problem here. It's the heating + update code that is the problem, I strongly believe that their is some issue with the current distribution through screen, which makes all the small leds to breakdown and emit a single color. And this happens in line because I think all leds are in parallel connection and that large current flow through them at same time. Through updates they try to play with the current that flows through the screen, optimize screen refresh rate and in turn optimize battery usage and while doing this they somehow mess up with the current configuration.

Im not a hard-core gamer an all so can I update my S22 Ultra, after seen others green line in 'S Series " im afraid to update 😳
