So, today (22nd December 2019) my December security patch showed up... the patch notes mentioned improved fingerprint sensor in terms of security and performance and it also suggested me to remove my previous fingerprint Id and create new ones to stay more secure... I deleted all id and went onto create a new one... but after 3-4 touches it started saying "please cover the sensor entirely" and ironically my whole thumb was covering the sensor and it always worked fine for me... but after update it's not letting me register fingerprint id... please help

My sensor worked in that way. After November update I had to follow that technique. Now even after December update, I re-registered my fingerprints using this technique.

Happened with me too. Took almost 5mins to register. But I didn't remove the previous f.p . Try again and be patient (That's the best thing to do, for now atleast)

Please kindly do the reset app preferences from the following path: setting>>apps>>three dots on the right top>>reset app prefernces . If the issue is not resolved then kindly do the reset settings of the device by following way: setting>>general management>>reset>>reset settings . With this process, you wil not lose any data .

Guys, I too own A50 and the fingerprint issue is bothering me from November update. Tried all sorts of techniques but nothing works. Have logged s complaint as well, but it seems of no use.
