A restart it's enough, in fact that's why the mobile restarts)) if factory reset was needed would have reseted by itself after update))

Actually, it's always recommend to do a factory reset after a major OS update. There are so many technical reasons and some major ones are as we've used the apps on a previous Android version, app data and paging file are adjusted to that only and not according to the newer Android version. There are many behind-the-scenes changes after every major OS update which is crucial for any app developer to know and that's why any app must be optimised (updated to target the latest SDK level) for any newer Android version or else it simply won't run, will crash/show errors or behaves unexpectedly.

If for some reason one is unable to do a factory reset, then atleast he/she should go to recovery mode> clear all cache data> repair apps and then use galaxy app booster to enhance stability and performance.

And the reason Samsung or any other manufacturer do not factory reset the device automatically is because simply because it erases user data.

Recommend...well, I never got this recommendation from Samsung, so, I still consider it's unnecessary to factory reset...if was needed they'd have recommended on the download or at installing as they recommend a lot of things)

If you ask a Samsung employee, he/she might suggest that but that's just a general recommendation. And sure, many users will find it unnecessary/uncomfortable or may have various reasons not to do so and that's completely fine. No one forces someone to do a factory reset, just that your device will be a lot smoother as compared to it's vice versa.

I don't know why Samsung's don't recommend that, there are various reasons I could think of but this would be a waste of time if you'll agree to that only after samsung recommends. Anyways, I told you what is tried and tested by me (with my personal experience with many devices) and many others (including many tech articles, videos, etc.) It's your choice if you want to believe it or not. Not believing in that just because samsung doesn't mention it in update section won't change the fact. Peace ✌️.
