I have seen a few posts asking how to block pop-up notifications, and comment from a novice user saying that it is not possible, so decided to make a dedicated post on this subject.

Apps post several different types of notifications, and these appear under Notification Categories. This is a configuration hidden deep inside the notification setting for each app. You'll find them here:

Settings/ Apps/ <select any app>/ Notifications/ Notification Category

Here is an example using WhatsApp and SMS Organizer:

WhatsApp

Click on the type of notification you don't want as a pop-up. Once clicked, you'll see a new page where you can enable or disable Show as pop-up.

You may want some notifications as a pop-up (e.g. OTPs) while others without a pop-up.

This is the place where you can configure all the related settings the way you like. Other suggestions you'll see are highly limited in their scope and address just one type of notification. If you want to configure everything properly, this is the place to do that.

Hope this helps.

Use WhatsApp's built-in AppLock feature. It will allow you to block notification text.

Telegram also provides in-app option to show/ hide message previews. Don't know about the others you have mentioned as I don't use those apps.
