For those of you wanting to block ads systemwide, here's a simple setting:

Go to Settings/ Connections/ More Connection Settings (or search forPrivate DNS)

Change the dns provider to:

dns.adguard.com

That's it. All your ads (except on YouTube and some websites) will be gone. You don't need to install any app. Another benefit is you'll be able to use a real VPN too.

You can also do the same on your home router by entering the following dns servers:

94.140.14.14
94.140.15.15

This will block ads on all the devices that connect to your router.

Every now and then, I have seen adguard servers going down, and when that happens, the device would fail to connect to internet. In such cases, turn OFF Private DNS for sometime until they resolve the issue at their end. Most of the time, they will resolve it pretty quickly. But this is something to keep in mind.

IMPORTANT NOTE

Developers work very hard to make apps and spend a lot of time, effort and money to make them.Often, revenue from their apps are their only source of income, on which their families are dependent. So act with responsibility.

Apps are dirt cheap on Google Play Store. If the developer has a paid version of the app, or an unlock key, or in-app purchases, just go ahead and buy it. That will be a very small price to pay if you find the app useful to you. DON'T BE CHEAP. If everyone does this, this will be a reward for the developer's hard work.

Act with conscience and responsibility.
