As apple and Android both has implemented privacy features like showing when something is accessing camera or mic. Also has privacy dashboard where users can review what all apps accessed and so forth.
BUT is it really authentic? As I hope all are aware of Pegasus issue , where malware can access everything even mic and camera of infected phone without users knowledge , even so called apple secure ios is affected by this.
I know its a serious issue and anyway we commoners will be the last in list if someone wants to snoop on us but its a possibility.
So are these privacy indicators really worth it? Because when these type of malware will infect I don't think these indicators will be of any use.
Pegasus was a state sponsored attack which exploited the system vulnerabilities bypassing the security measures. This was more complex than the normal malwares you find on the internet.
Since you already mentioned that we commoners won't be affected, the privacy measures are enough to prevent third party apps from accessing the camera and mic without our permission
