U might have seen the screen damage in the Galaxy, flooding the internet... Please read this
There are 2 types of unit of the Fold- the retail unit and the other(normal) one..
In the retail unit..its been clearly mentioned "not to remove the layer from the device"
Many review Youtubers have peeled off that polymer type layer without reading the warning and due to which their screen is not working and fully damaged.
Though there are 2 youtubers whose box were not having the warning and so they removed the layer which seems quite OK...and that's a type of problem..may be
Out of the 2 youtubers, 1 is from "the Verge"
As in the photo u can see the bump on the screen. Now let me make it clear. The guy has used Clay(soil) at the back of the phone to shoot images, which is ok for any other phone, but in case of the fold, its the 1st gen phone and having complex gear mechanisms..it may be possible that a clay particle could have percolated through those mechanisms and ked to this problem.. however not yet confirmed
Samsung has replaced the units which had the problem and is looking into it seriously...
So guys don't get panic and judge the phone so early
Its the 1st gen phone and needs time. We should be proud of Samsung to bring a change in the market without thinking of loss(since majority people will wait foe this innovation to get upgraded)..so if u love other company please don't criticise Samsung..which never compromised the quality and never hesitated to apologise.
And don't worry, the sale date will be going to be the same, Though it will take some time to launch in India
