Hi Samsung Community,

I’m facing an issue with my Samsung Galaxy S23 where a green line appeared suddenly on the screen, and it worsened after following Samsung’s troubleshooting steps. There is also a reddish-brown line near the selfie camera.

I visited the Samsung service center on March 29, but they refused to inspect the phone and only offered a paid screen replacement worth ₹9,000, which was completely unnecessary considering this issue seems to be related to a known defect.

Despite reaching out multiple times to Samsung Support, I’ve been told that no free screen replacement is available for this issue. I know of many customers who received free replacements for the same problem, and I feel this inconsistency needs addressing.

Has anyone else experienced this issue, and how did you resolve it? Does Samsung offer a consistent approach for addressing such defects, especially when the issue worsens after troubleshooting?

Looking forward to your thoughts and advice.

Thanks,
Rahul K Benny

There is very slim chance of factory reset clearing green lines. And free screen replacement are offered only on few device models and for limited time too.

Anyways here are the steps to do factory reset.
1. Go to developer options and unlock bootloader.
2. Turn off phone connect to pc, press and hold volume up and power button once phone boots in recovery mode.,
3. Go to factory reset ( this deletes all data in you phone making a backup before is recommended ).
Boots normally, you need to login using previously registered gmail id to unlock the phone and setup up freshly.

Hope this helps ., if you like this the give a like and click on 3 dots and accept as solution

A green line unexpectedly appeared on my S23 Ultra while using the March patch update on One UI 6.1, without any software updates being performed. My S23 Ultra is over two years old. I anticipate that the Samsung service center will recommend a costly display replacement.

Samsung's inability to identify the cause and provide a solution for this widespread green line issue is disappointing, especially considering their size and reputation. As a long-time Samsung flagship user (since Gakaxy S1) i feel let down.
