Galaxy SAnyways here are the steps to do factory reset.
1. Go to developer options and unlock bootloader.
2. Turn off phone connect to pc, press and hold volume up and power button once phone boots in recovery mode.,
3. Go to factory reset ( this deletes all data in you phone making a backup before is recommended ).
Boots normally, you need to login using previously registered gmail id to unlock the phone and setup up freshly.

Galaxy SSamsung's inability to identify the cause and provide a solution for this widespread green line issue is disappointing, especially considering their size and reputation. As a long-time Samsung flagship user (since Gakaxy S1) i feel let down.
