S8 otg defaults to charge other device

I find it ridiculous and down right dangerous that my phone defaults to charge connected device whenever I plug a usb-c device into it. For some reason selecting a different option like transfer media, disconnects the drive and my s8 defaults backto charge other device. Is there any way to fix this or disable reverse charging alltogether?

Try using the samsung adapter that came with your device?

same here i am using the one came in box but still when i connect pen drive it shows charge connected device. still i can use files on pendrive but on a very lower transfer rate
