I have an S23. Four gray dots are visible on the top right side. This mainly happens during calls and on the lock screen; it flickers continuously during calls and sometimes on the lock screen.

The four gray dots you're seeing on your S23 are likely related to the proximity sensor. This sensor is usually located behind the display and turns on during calls to detect how close the phone is to your ear.

When the infrared LED is activated, it can appear as four small squares or dots on the screen, especially against a white or light background. This is a common phenomenon and not a defect.

The flickering you're experiencing during calls is probably due to the proximity sensor constantly checking the distance between the phone and your ear. It's possible that the sensor is more sensitive or active during calls, causing the dots to flicker.

To confirm, you can try making a call in a well-lit area and see if the dots appear. If they do, it's likely the proximity sensor at work.
