Last week After updating my S23 software to one ui 7, the display started to appear streaky. I contacted customer support several times and was told to show it to the next customer care and insert the job card. They showed it to me and confirmed that there was no physical damage to the phone and that the line was down due to the update.
However, Samsung's stance is that the display will not be replaced because the warranty has expired.
Isn't this cheating the customer by promising four years of updates and then making them buy the phone at a high price?
The phone is not damaged by the update while it is under warranty, but after a year, they make the phone damaged through the update they provide. This is cheating.
If they don't replace the line display on my S23, I'll take legal action and take action through social media.

Troubleshooting Steps You Can Try:
* Restart Your Phone: A simple restart can sometimes resolve temporary software glitches. Make sure to completely power off your phone and then turn it back on.
* Uninstall Recently Installed Apps: If the green line appeared shortly after installing a new app, try uninstalling it to see if that resolves the issue. An incompatible or malfunctioning app could be the cause.
* Boot into Safe Mode: Safe Mode starts your phone with only essential apps running. If the green line disappears in Safe Mode, it indicates that a third-party app is likely the culprit. You can then uninstall recently installed apps one by one to identify the problematic one. To enter Safe Mode, typically you need to power off your device completely, then turn it on. When the Samsung logo appears, press and hold the volume down button until the phone finishes restarting in Safe Mode (you'll see "Safe mode" in the corner).
* Check for Software Updates (Again): Even though the issue appeared after an update, there might be a newer update available that includes a fix. Go to Settings > Software update > Download and install to check.
* Wipe Cache Partition: Clearing the cache partition can sometimes resolve issues after an update. To do this:
   * Turn off your phone.
   * Connect your phone to a computer or charger using a USB cable.
   * Press and hold the Volume Up button and the Power button simultaneously until the Samsung logo appears.
   * Use the volume buttons to navigate to Wipe cache partition and press the power button to select it.
   * Use the volume buttons to navigate to Yes and press the power button to confirm.
   * Once the cache wipe is complete, select Reboot system now and press the power button.
* Perform a Display Test: You can try a diagnostic code to test the display. Open your phone's dialer app and enter *#0*#. This should open a diagnostic menu. Look for options like "Red," "Green," and "Blue." Tap on each color to fill the screen. If the green line is still visible during these tests, it's more likely a hardware issue.
* Factory Reset (Last Resort): A factory reset will erase all data on your phone and restore it to its original settings. This should only be done as a last resort after backing up your important data. Go to Settings > General management > Reset > Factory data reset.
What to Do If the Problem Persists:
If the green line remains after trying these steps, it strongly suggests a hardware problem. Here's what you should do:
* Contact Samsung Support: Reach out to Samsung's customer support in Visakhapatnam or the nearest service center. Explain the issue and that it occurred after a software update.
* Check Your Warranty: If your phone is still under warranty, the repair or replacement might be covered.
* Samsung's Free Screen Replacement Program (India): Samsung has acknowledged the "green line" issue on some of their devices and has been offering a free one-time screen replacement program in India for eligible models. This program has been extended until September 30, 2025.
   * Eligible models reportedly include the Galaxy S21 series, Galaxy S21 FE, and Galaxy S22 Ultra. However, it's best to confirm the full list with Samsung support.
   * To avail this, your phone should not have any physical or water damage, and you might need to present the original purchase bill.
   * While the screen replacement is free, you might still have to pay for labor charges.
* Visit an Authorized Service Center: Take your phone to an authorized Samsung service center for diagnosis and repair. They will be able to determine the exact cause of the green line and provide the necessary service.
