Coming from Z Fold4 and S21 Ultra, there is definitely something off with the way the display is handling colors. Significantly less punch and sharpness, can be called unattractive or muted. The screen mode is Vivid but in real not the kind of Vivid Samsung has mastered over years. Even my S9+ looks better, let alone S21 Ultra. I am not from engineering or tech background but the gamma or tones are really looking bad. Also, the photo and videos in general are not as crisp/sharp with at times a little bit of haze or blur being felt.

I have compared different S23 Ultra hansets side by side, so it's not a defect and it's the way how it is now. Even if Samsung is doing away with vividness and applying more natural tones, the result is less satisfying, atleast for now.

Fix it please, Samsung. This is a highly expensive phone and screen is taking away the overall premium experience. Thank you.

Incredibly disappointed. I traded in my s21 hoping to get rid of the annoying shakiness when in 10x zoom on my videos. Now, the shakiness is gone, but the s23 is awful with color and clarity. Details are diminished and colors are washed out. I wish now I hadn't gotten rid of my s21. And we're spending a lot of money for what appears to be a downgrade in performance. Cannot recommend this phone. Hoping they provide an update that fixes MANY issues.

I'm not happy with how washed out the display is, what happened to the eye-catching colour

I'm going to send the phone back and going back to the S20 Ultra just to get that zing back

What's happened to top quality display Samsung?

it really does have to be a simple fix as mine was perfect right up until now. I have just set my watch 5 up to it over the weekend and this morning I set up bixby for the first time ever. I have never used bixby on my phones in the past. Only using it to use on my watch.

My Samsung S23ULTRA was perfect right up until now. All of a sudden the screen went all grey. I followed tips to fix and it came back as a washed out, pale, lacking life coloured screen and apps. Absolutely horrible to look at. I have tried everything possible to get it back to the beautiful colour it was before, but nothing is working. I have been playing with settings on my new Watch 5 which I thought could be the cause, but not once have I changed colours or anything else. Just setting things up. I had just set up Bixby for the very first time ever and wondering if that has something to do with it. Only a guess. Has to be something simple in the settings. I have had every note along the way with no faults ever and now this has happened. It really has to be something simple.  Any ideas anybody?

Okay I have found this video which might be the answer on fixing it. I am actually on hold with Samsung who have taken control of my phone to try to sort this problem out. He is running an update and said it should be an easy fix. I would suggest if everyone who is having this same problem, to try out this following thing I just found on You Tube. If it doesn't work, then maybe call Samsung direct. They are free and fixing things for me. He said it isn't something he has had experience in fixing before, but will get it sorted out. This is the details of the You Tube solution.

Okay they fixed the issue. The video is definitely the way to resolve this issue with the dull, crappy looking screen.

• go to settings

• accessibility

• visibility and enhancements

• colour correct - make sure it is disabled

• go back

• colour filter - make sure it is disabled

this should resolve the issue. If you still have the same problem, scroll down from the top and look for

• eye comfort shield - make sure it is disabled

This should bring your screen back to normal.

I hope this helps you all. They are great phones, so PLEASE DON'T GIVE UP until you have tried these tips on resolving the issues.

We all here are talking something different than you are giving resolution to. We are actually talking about display quality and colour calibration that samsung did on s23 by default. it's awful!

Though it is AMOLED display looks pale and basic HD phone colors. As I used AMOLED ones earlier I can easily note the difference now on S23 Ultra, which is premium series but utterly disappointed with the washed out display.

I confirm that S23+ suffers the same problem.
