Coming from Z Fold4 and S21 Ultra, there is definitely something off with the way the display is handling colors. Significantly less punch and sharpness, can be called unattractive or muted. The screen mode is Vivid but in real not the kind of Vivid Samsung has mastered over years. Even my S9+ looks better, let alone S21 Ultra. I am not from engineering or tech background but the gamma or tones are really looking bad. Also, the photo and videos in general are not as crisp/sharp with at times a little bit of haze or blur being felt.

I have compared different S23 Ultra hansets side by side, so it's not a defect and it's the way how it is now. Even if Samsung is doing away with vividness and applying more natural tones, the result is less satisfying, atleast for now.

Fix it please, Samsung. This is a highly expensive phone and screen is taking away the overall premium experience. Thank you.

As soon as I saw the display, I regretted getting this phone. I hate it.

Same issue with my S23 Ultra, don't know how to explain this but looking at S3 Ultra side by side with S22 Ultra colors on the S22 ultra looks better.

I upgraded from s20+ to s23+ and feels like it's a downgrade. Everyone saying your old phone(s20+) is looking new and the new(s23+) is looking old. I know the reason why they are saying so I had recognized this issue on the very first day only after prebooking and pre-ordering I regret my decision now. I use Samsung for its lovely displays and after paying my hard earned money I find that's not there. The colors are so washed out. After 3 generations s20+ to s23+ they downgraded and made screen worse. Earlier I was proud of the display s20+ had and everyone used to ask me about the phone but now it seems like it's just another cheap phone just because of the display.
I though why no one is talking about this. Thanks for this thread at least I know there are more like me who notice the difference and brought it to the front.

Hey!
Let me just correct you...
its not after 3 generation
s21 series display was also attractive as the previous one

they breaks the heart of samsung fans for display from the s22 series
when I shifted from s21 to s22
I noticed there's huge difference between both display.

I have same problem. Colors are out. My old S10+, S21, S22 was better. S23U have so bad colors,  so not live, so cold. I tried settings but without any chance. I have old S4 Tab and A33. There are colors much better. Hmm cheap display?

When I compare it with my old S9+, it looks like colors are less saturated on S23. Only uprage is 120hz screen but it's not worth it

yes the screen of S20 FE looks more vivid compared to the new and expensive S23! It should Ave improved even more in the newer models, instead it performs worse then the older models!
