Contact automatically getting deleted from my S20 plus. Started after One UI 4 update. Deleted cache but nothing changed. Did factory reset. No luck. Manually checking the Recycle Bin every 2-3 days and restoring those. Just got One 4.1 update today and my phone deleted 2 contacts after update. Seriously what's the point having  s**t ton of features in your phone when it can't do the basic things properly

Was sync on, was same account logged in In different devices. If so turn off sync and logout of all the devices.

I'm using my account only in my S20 plus. No other device. I copied my contact from my google account to samsung account. Then turn of sync in google account. But it deleted contacts from my samsung account. This issue started after One Ui 4.0 update

Same issue today since the update, on an S20.  I can see on Google contacts that the phone has auto-deleted them.  I have restored them via Google contacts.  Many threads with same issue. Samsung software bug. Cleared Contacts Cache.  Not fixed...

One solution I got is Try to observe which app is deleting the contacts ..in my case it's Google play services ...u can go to recycle bin and tap on any deleted contact it will show which app is deleting contacts
Then go to that app details and deny the permissions to access contacts
BOOM IT WORKS //
