Ive been a proud owner of the note 20. Somehow the merge of S and N series didnt realy sit well with me. Ive been on the note 2 3 4 5 8 and now 20 ultra.

Last night i was watching YT shorts and accidently tugged the device while the cable was in charger. Obviously if it was too hard either the phone connected C type or the charger connect3d end would have disconnected. But it didnts.

I spent next hour watching videos on my phone and had it connected to charger all the while. Slept..woke up to find the yellow line appear. I am crying. Never had before happened on any of my devices.

So i did the usual stuff. Restart. Screen test etc. Nothing helped. Safe mode also showed the line so i am currently assuming hardware related.

But sincr the phone didnt fall or have physical shock of any kind i am guessing the Tug last night may have some how loosened or broke the display ribbon or flex? Most of the cases recommend display change. But that costs around 3 to 400 usd from where I am.

Anyway I can confirm if the ribbon or flex is the problem or no choice scenario dump the phone Cz buying a pixel 7 pro right now cost me similar to to replace screen on note 20 ultra.

Dear Samsung.

Thank you for responding.

Regretfully I am in a country that (despite counting 3 phones per head) and 1 being a Samsung device - we neither have an authorised service center nor do you have a country helpline setup for us?! . I am from Maldives.

The only thing you could do for me is to assist me in finding out if changing the flex cable or ribbon that connects the display could fix it or not?

First, try contacting the service center. If they don't help or ask for a large sum of money, simply register a complaint on the NCH app for assistance. For more details, refer to my latest community post.

Sir I also got latest security update on my note 20 ultra, but didn't get any green or pink line. It's only happening after moblie is dropped, and pixel breaks . This incident also happens with me in November 2023, with green line after updating, and samsung has help me with changing my note 20 ultra display, frame and battery free of cost.

This is really very disappointing and frustrating, if issue like this occurs frequently then it is no use supporting samsung products
