issue with notification sound

hi everyone

I just got M31 yesterday (my first android)

I got some problem with notification sound

I tried disble sound on facebook messenger and on phone setting also

but when people chat me, there are always ping (notification sound)

how can I turn this off

its so annoying...

Next time when you receive a notification, slowly swipe the notification to any side and click on the settings icon and there you can select message notifications and select silent.

yeah I tried that but not sure which one is to silent the ping

chat and call?

if yes when I choose silent

will it still show notification (without sound) ?

Yes it will still show notifications without sound. If you don't want to get notifications, just press and hold the notifications and turn off.

another question, my friend text me on Whatsapp

there are about 10-20 unread message

but there is no red number (notification) at whatsapp icon on home screen

any idea what should I set?

Yes, go to settings, then go to notifications, then turn on app icon badges.

all app icon badges are already turned on but still no notification badge shown

unless I open the app...

If you clear the notification from the notification panel, then you won't be able to see the numbers. Do you do that?

I compare with Ipad

ipa d - open app and 10-20 notifications inside

while I check on. M31 

the app icon on home screen looks clean until I enter so I can see the notification
