I have taken backup on my laptop with smart switch from my Samsung phone. Now I want to restore the same backup on my new non-samsung(redmi note 12) phone. I have smart switch installed on my phone but when I connect my non -samsung phone to laptop and open smart switch on my laptop it doesn't show any option to restore the backup to my non-samsung device.

Is the restore only available for a Samsung phone ?

You can't Restore backup from Smart Switch PC to any other phone except Samsung one. You have to any app developed by Xiomi on your redmi as well as Samsung device for the same.
