Yes, I also got a minor update notification ( security update ) after the update my mobile crashed and stuck on the Samsung logo. I am unable to do factory reset or recovery.

Samsung Care told me that the motherboard issue and which costs me Rs 9000+ INR, my warranty got expired couple of weeks ago. I brought this mobile during last year's sale period. Is this a pre-planned activity?  to send an update and crash all the phone? so that everyone will purchase hardware?

I don't see these types of silly issues in Chinese phones. Still I am confused about how the security can crash the motherboard... Samsung please stop cheating people.

Last night I watched few YouTube videos and then left the mobile on the table. Very next morning the mobile was dead without doing anything. It's not charging and not getting powered on. I gave the mobile to the authorized Samsung service center and then got to know that the motherboard is gone and I need to pay Rs 8000+ to get a new one. They tested with a battery charged with more than 80% so it's not a battery issue at all. Some 15-20 days back I was asked to update the OS and actually the update pop-up was very frequent and so I did it. I have a high speed wi-fi broadband connection at home so those data transfer cannot be the issue so if someone is saying this was because of network connectivity issues I would say just shut-up your mouth. I started getting multiple issues with keyboard and backspace buttons immediately after updating the software. I'm planning to Sue Samsung in consumer court for this motherboard issue for sure if they don't provide a proper solution. And yes I do feel this was a preplanned activity by Samsung as multiple e-commerce have started their offers for festive seasons and Samsung is greedy to take the advantage of the situation.

  • I too faced the same Motherboard issue with Samsung M30s where all of a sudden phone stopped working.
  • I preferred Samsung mainly due to anti Chinese sentiments. But Samsung seems to be a big cheater. I had faced some sort of similar problem with my earlier Samsung phone after updating. Now I can co relate my own two experiences as well as the experiences of the other users that something is very fishy in this software updates from Samsung.
  • Gradually, Samsung is losing trusts if it's customers which is reflecting in sharp decline of its market share. Hope they will get exposed soon and out of the Indian market.

I bought a Samsung M31S mobile on 25.09.2021 for the price of 19500 rupees. It is working fine and I enjoyed using it. On 21.01.2022 at around 8PM, while I was watching a movie on my mobile suddenly it got switched off and I had switched it on again. It restarted but it got stuck at Samsung boot logo and not moved on again. Earlier sometimes it has got itself switched off automatically and restarted again but this time it has not restarted. Recently on Dec 23, 2021 the OS was updated .From then onwards it keeps on auto restarting itself.  I thought it's because of that software update. I took it to Samsung Service Centre. The engineer checked the mobile and said it's a motherboard problem and costs 7000 rupees for replacement. I was shocked to hear that. I requested him to double check it because there's no damage to the mobile, no water damage and all the parts are absolutely working fine. All of a sudden the motherboard became faulty. I came to know from them that M series mobiles have these issues coming. As the warranty is only for 1 year and in my case it's 1year 4 months. They said they won't replace the board at free of cost. It's really a drawback with M31 series as it's not even 1 and half years old and the motherboard has gone faulty.
I mailed to Samsung head office but they says as it is out of warranty you have to pay 8k rupees for replacement. How injustice is this from samsung? They intentionally sent OS update with a bug in it to crash the hardware after completion of warranty period & then inturn asking customer to pay 8K for replacement. Cheap tricks by samsung. shame on them.
