I have bought it a month ago. Its battery performance is not giving as expected. The battery fully drain in a day. At night with in 6 hrs 8% of battery drains though I have closed every thing in background. I have tried every possible solution but it didn't workout. I have also sent it to service centre they reinstall the software as they said. But i have consistently getting a day battery life. 6-7hrs of screen time. Also they said there is nothing wrong with battety, it is normal. But I'm saying not normal as I'm techei guy why is this issue am facing. It should give 12+ hrs of screen time on normal use. Even my usage is very normal. Also I'm not gamer though.  I am charging this phone in a day.

auto-sync off kar ke dekho ek baar...if it improves battery life, there are some default android (probably google) services running in background which need to be checked one by one. in my case, it was 'google play services' draining the battery in background in night as well as when i was using the phone...after turning off auto sync, my screen on time is 13-14 hours. Hope it works for u too and yes, u can not disable things like google play services manually.....u have to disable auto sync when not required.

1 Turn off wifi and Bluetooth scanning

2 Turn off auto wifi hotspot 2.0

3 Turn off wifi on automatically

4 Turn off nearby device scanning

5 Turn off printing service

6 Turn on auto optimise from device care but inside that turn off 'close apps to free memory' (Force closing apps do more harm).

7 Go to permission manager-> location-> show system apps and select 'allow location only when app in use' for all possible apps individually

8 Go to google from setting -> on device sharing -> remove 3rd party apps except google apps

9 Again google -> device connection-> turn off nearby share, devices, cast media control, android auto

10 Turn off auto update from both play store and galaxy store. Also go to notifications of these both and turn off notifications like promotions, deals, recommendations.

11 disable these bloatwares->
(My galaxy, facebook services)

12 Put these apps in deep sleep->
(Appcloud, Galaxy themes, samsung Internet... etc)

13 Turn off background activity and data usage of these apps->
(Discover, samsung visit in, samsung push service, wallpaper service and any app that you don’t wanna run in background

14 Go to Notifications of Google and Turn off things that you don't care about like stocks, promotions, price drop alert.

15 Turn off 'ok google' detection from assistant.

one of the main reasons of battery drain is background activity,
even you close apps but they uses ur battery and running in background unnecessary, see image(1) and read the statement.
2nd due to huge notification options.
for e.g ; Google has huge notification which we don't need at all see image(2) just scroll up and down and check how many notification it does have.
So do these settings to stop, which consume battery unnecessarily.

1. Settings>>Connection>more connections settings> disable nearby device settings

2. Settings>>Location>improve accuracy >disable
A. Wifi scanning
B. Bluetooth scanning .

Besides above settings do some more settings to save more battery life and observe for next 1-2 days, it will give a noticeable difference

3. Device care>battery >power mode>select "optimised" and "adaptive power saving".

And then click on "app power management >
And enable these 2 options.
A. Adaptive battery
B. Put Unused Apps to Sleep.

4. Long press on each app specially 3rd party(LIKE FACEBOOK, YOUTUBE) and rarely used apps and also ON "GOOGLE APP" as well, then click on>app info> then go to these 3 options below on by one

A. Mobile data> allow background data usage>off

B. Battery >allow background activity >off

C. Notification >disable unnecessary notifications like promotional and unnecessary reminder notifications.

5. Go to settings> privacy > permission manager > location> and check which app have accessing your location all the time and if not using that apps then deny access or set as " allowed only while in use"
As unnecessary location access by 3rd party app causing battery drain.

6.  Go to settings > Google > on device sharing> check which 3rd party apps present there for e.g. if you use paytm , paytm will  shared data to show recommendation and suggestion which also cause battery drain

7.  Go to settings > account and backup> account > checkwhich app syncing automatically there and if any app which not necessary to auto sync then click on it and disable sync.

8. Go to settings >apps>search "weather" >click on settings icon right side > change "auto refresh" settings as per your requirements and disable some unnecessary reminder. ( due to auto refresh it continuously consuming battery)

9. If you use Facebook frequently then disable "auto play video"
And if you are mostly uses mobile, on wifi connection then also disable "auto play videos" in YouTube.

10. Settings>>Google >click on 3dot at right top corner>usage and diagnostics >off this option.

yes, it is usually the critical battery drain issue for all m51 users. I replaced the mobile but the replacement device works same. very disappointed because my M20 with 5000mAh used to give good performance than m51 with 7000mAh.
