Guys, when we compare amoled vs pls lcd. The first thing which comes in mind is power saving. And Many of us think that dark mode only helps to conserve battery in Amoled, not in pls lcd. But it's not correct.
Let me explain.
In Amoled displays there are pixels or you can say small leds which turn off when the dark mode is turned on or a dark part is being used in phone which conserves battery. In pls lcd there's a single light source which doesn't helps much. I said 'doesn't helps much' not said it will not help. Suppose you have a phone which has peak brightness kd 500 nits, then the dark mode in pls will reduce brightness to 0.3 nits in dark part. Which conserves battery, not efficient like amoled but it works too much better than light mode.

Nope, the screen is lit up even in dark mode so it's not saving much maybe 1-2% but it's not worth though people can still keep the dark mode on if they prefer to use it .

Okay, let's say what you've said works ..okay now tell me how many daily apps support dark mode ( with absolute blacks not just toned down version of blacks or dark greys ) and how much of a area in those apps is actually black ..let's say for Samsung which uses both amoled and lcd display other than the settings area there are not many area which are using complete black , only a little area covers absolute black in UI , APPS OR if someone uses a black wallpaper only there the amoled black is worth it , right.
Now you said that lcd display reduce brightness to 0.3 nits which still means the display is consuming power only change is that it's now glowing as bright , unlike in the Amoled where the LEDs are completely shut and saving power . And that's why I said that even in dark mode the battery save on LCD panel DOESN'T amount much compared to the AMOLED as people in their phones consumes a lot of media and majority of are full of colours and less black , hence it doesn't matter how low a LCD panel glows it's still consuming power .
