1. Some of the apps show locked notifications or require secure access randomly even when i have not even added them to my secure folder like 'google playstore' and 'settings'. It is very irritating and frustrating. When i open the notification there is nothing to be seen- it simply brings me back to my homescreen. Had to switch off all notifications in secure folder apps settings.
2. The locksceeen in landscape mode gets completely skewed when in portrait mode. The image gets cropped and half of it is outside the screenframe and loses its purpose if you have put some information on it as it is only half visible. The position of clock gets autocentered which again destroys your whole look you were going for.
3. Secure folder has its own purpose but its no match to the utility of absimple app lock feature which serves a different purpose. Need a system integrated app lock feature.
4. When using s-pen to scribble text in some text box and u require the on screen keyboard- sometime the small floating keyboard pops up and somtime the fixed bottom screen keyboard pops up in a random fashion. There is no easy way or a shortcut button to switch beteeen the two...even if there is it will appear as disabled (grey). This makes the use of s -pen very restricted and non-user friendly.
5. When using s-pen to scribble text and you wish to correct a word and you erase the word half way and try to rewrite the rest of it- it will automatically insert a space in between...basically making word correction impossible leaving you with no choice but erase the whole word and rewrite it.
6. You have to pull down the notification panel twice to access brightness bar when it is the most frequently used feature in the notification pulldown menu. It is cumbersome. It should be placed right below the first line of shortcuts when notification Panel is pulled once and when pulled twice it can shift to its original place which is at the bottom of the shortcut buttons.
7. When trying to wake up the tab the screen does not smoothly brighten up and wake up but it flickers rapidly going dark and back a couple of times and it seems like the screen is having a stroke. Very poor feeling...does not feel like using a premium product.
8. The colour of font used in icons and system texts like in settings and notification cannot be changed. If someone is using a color theme or bckground which blends with the text colour...too bad you cant basically use that theme or background. Icon font is white so any background with white practially hids the name of the app/folder placed above it. One can use high contrast fonts but it makes the text look cheap and area around it pixelated....font color option would be appreciated.
9. Still many apps which dont upport landscape mode. Many people prefer samsung tab over apple because of its wider landscape form factor. If the same becomes a reason for difficulty whats the point? Make each n every app landscape mode adept.
10. Camera is the worst...at this cost one should refuse to buy this tab solely for the poor and pathtic camera quality.
11. Bring a mode in screen share where the tab becomes the track pad / writing pad and keyboard while second display is solely display.
12. Paid hefty amount for trackpad keypad case-cover.... keys are not backlit and the back cover does go all around the device....edges exposed...doe not protect the device from impact
13. When you switch from normal mode to dark mode or vice-versa, some apps (like youtube) dont comply with the change immediately. You have to relaunch the app for the mode to apply.. i.e. if you are using an app (some not all) in normal mode and in between pull down the notification panel and switch to dark mode the app theme wont change..unless you close the app and relaunch.
Apple feels more premium because of these small perfections it brings in its user experince. Please samsung bring updates to make this tab the best pick for its price point.
Thankyou for your insight. However wrt poin no.2 - aspect ratio also changes for the homescreen and wallpaper...but they donot get cropped. Walpaper, apps and the widgets adjust accordingly at their designated places without a problem. Its just that simple....but samsung did not think it through for the lockscreen.
Also the camera is just pathetic...while uing it the object apper so so grainy... it might get processed fter you click it...butnwhile taking the picture you get to see how poor the camera is. Not suitable for documents either
