as the chips (processors) in J5 prime doesn't support android 9. If samsung sends the update for that then your device will not work properly, it will begin to hang and work slower.

j4 and j5 prime has same processors .
j4 have android 9 updation.🤷‍♂️

Hi @Ashique13 Samsung J4, J4 core and J4+ was released in 2018 with Android 8.0 and 8.1 out of the box respectively. Hence , it's eligible for Android 9.0. Among 3 J4 series just j4+ received 9.0. Rest are eligible too but takes time.

However on the other hand, J5 prime SM-G570F was released with android 6.0.1 and received 2 major updates and the latest is 8.0. So it's no longer eligible for OS updates.

Hi there,

I'll put it simple for you. Every device comes with an OS of Android 5 or 6 or 7 or something. Each device gets 2 OS updates when company rolls out each time. Your model released in a year 2016 with Android 6.0.1 and latest is Android 8.0. You're already given 2 major updates. Hence, there'll be no more updates.

However you can force install Android 9.0 through custom rom is not advisable.
