Sometimes the touch doesn't work while your palm touches the screen. Maybe there could be a multi touch fix for that. As screens are getting bigger this problem still remains.
If your device supports Goodlock app, then I recommend you to use Edge touch application. It has options to ignore touches in the corners of the phone.
