Hey guys. My type C earphones that I have been using since a year and more which was working perfect stopped getting recognized by my S23U. It happened all of a sudden. The same earphones works perfectly on laptop and other phones. What could be the issue? Is it a software issue?

If anybody knows any fix, do help.
Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the update. Since your Mi USB-C earphones were working fine with your Galaxy S23 Ultra and suddenly stopped, here's a detailed troubleshooting checklist to find out what’s wrong:

---

1. Clean the USB-C Port

Use a soft brush, toothpick, or compressed air to gently clean the charging port of your phone.

Dust or pocket lint can block connections (very common issue).

---

2. Restart Your Phone

A simple reboot can often restore USB-C recognition if there was a software glitch.

---

3. Check in Safe Mode

To rule out third-party apps causing interference:

Press & hold the Power button

Then tap and hold “Power off” → tap “Safe Mode”

Plug in the earphones while in Safe Mode.

If it works, some app is conflicting (like sound equalizers, audio recorders, etc.).

---

4. Try in Another Phone or Laptop

Plug your Mi USB-C earphones into another USB-C device (another phone or laptop).

If it doesn’t work there either → earphones may be dead.

---

5. Try Other USB-C Device with Your S23 Ultra

If another USB-C earphone or DAC adapter works with your S23U, your phone port is fine.

If none work → phone’s USB-C audio detection might be faulty.

---

6. Check for Software Updates

Go to Settings > Software update > Download and install

Samsung sometimes fixes USB-C or DAC driver issues in updates.

---

7. USB Preferences Reset

Go to Settings > Apps > USB Settings > Storage > Clear Data/Cache

Or try: Settings > General management > Reset > Reset settings (won’t delete data, just resets preferences)

I Hope this helps! 😊

Try replacing the earphones as they usually die in 1 to 1.5 years of heavy use.

I dont think so. Last update was almost a month ago. Not able to understand why the issue suddenly popped up.
