The issue of not having a Gemini mapping option for the side button on the S24 Ultra, even after the 5th beta of One UI 7, is a common concern among users.
The reason for this limitation is that Samsung has not yet integrated Gemini mapping into the One UI 7 beta program for the S24 Ultra. Gemini is a feature that allows users to map the Bixby button to a different action, such as opening an app or taking a screenshot. However, it seems that Samsung is still working on integrating this feature into the S24 Ultra's software.
As for why Bixby is still turning on when you press the side button, it's likely because the button is still defaulting to Bixby mode. This is a known issue, and many users have reported it.
Samsung's decision to limit the side button's functionality to Bixby mode has been met with criticism from many users, who would prefer to have more control over the button's behavior.
In an ideal scenario, Samsung would allow users to customize the side button's behavior, including mapping it to Gemini or other actions. However, it seems that this feature is not yet available on the S24 Ultra.
If you're interested in seeing this feature implemented, you can try the following:
1. **Provide feedback to Samsung**: You can submit feedback to Samsung through their website or through the Samsung Members app. This will help Samsung understand the demand for this feature.
2. **Participate in beta testing**: If you're part of the One UI 7 beta program, you can provide feedback to Samsung during the beta testing phase. This will help Samsung identify and fix issues, including the Gemini mapping issue.
3. **Wait for future software updates**: Samsung may release future software updates that include Gemini mapping or other customization options for the side button.
Keep in mind that software updates can take time, and it's not clear when or if Samsung will release Gemini mapping for the S24 Ultra.
