I have checked with their Customer support team and below is as per their statement...
That Samsung pay will ONLY work with Cards of Banks from phones in the Country of Phone Origin. ie If Phone is having an IMEI of UAE, samsung Pay will accept to load Cards only from UAE. Not from Qatar, Not from Germany and definitely not from India...etc
After loading the Card from point of Origin Country u can use Samsung Pay anywhere in the world where Samsung Pay is available.
indeed this is a bummer for all who bought phones here in the UAE and use it in India or elsewhere. i thought of something.... would formatting the phone and then flashing the firmware of the country of residence help? ( i mean through proper Samsung service centre. tripping knox wouldnt be a risk wortg taking)
Changing the firmware to that of the country of residence will definitely solve the issue. I have tried on my S7 edge purchased from UAE. I changed the firmware to that of India and samsung pay works smoothly.
