Hi All,

I got a new samsung galaxy s22, but i feel it heats up a bit when using camera for ~5 minutes or downloading multiple apps. The normal battery temperature is ~31-34 celcius and CPU temperature is ~31-34 celcius. On running AnTuTu benchmark test, the CPU temperature goes upto 43-44 celcius. is this normal. Please share your opinions/suggestions.

Thanks in advance :)!

Few more points to detail about my experience in these 2 days:

1. Though i didn't use camera for long, its 5-10 minutes of recording/capturing clicks and CPU temperature rises to 45-46 degree celcius (these are the CPU  temperatures through app, actual back/display temperatures are around 42-43 celcius max)

2. I have observed that using Snapchat/instagram cameras don't lead to such heating, its only the samsung's camera app that is heating the back up.

3. Normal usage like scrolling through apps, watching youtube videos for (even 30 minutes long) are leading to slight warming up, I won't call that heating.

Kindly help me know if any of the above issue is concerning!

Every new phone needs to learn usage patterns for some days to properly optimize apps n normal working. When you use ur device for cpu test apps it's normal that it gets hot coz antutu tests r like that - cpu/GPU intensive, also using camera n it's different functions can cause temp rise too.

But if you find it happening continuously, then an app optimisation process is necessary, app booster in "good guardians" will help you. Also a reboot once a 3-4 days will help ur device along with auto optimize feature in battery section.Screenshot_20220317-155417_Device care_19256_1647512657.jpgScreenshot_20220317-155408_Device care_19255_1647512648.jpg

While setting up a device downloading multiple apps the phone will heat up. Any phone. I felt this with Mi 4i, OP 3, S20+ and now S22+. Its not a new issue in Android.

As for using camera, yes if you will use camera for extended period phone should heat up as its processing images really fast.

Under 45°c is normal heating to the point of warm. Above that I would be concerned.

The phone is learning your usage pattern right now. So give it some time to see heating and battery issues imo.

Also 8 gen 1 heats up. It is exynos of 2022. Congrats we bought exynos again lol. Jokes aside i think its almost 40°c in march so we seeing the chip perform at its worse. March-June the phone will heat up more than it should.
