My S8's screen started flickering out of nowhere, without any drop or water damage. It happen on mid brightness levels only, screen work ok when brightness kept 15% or below and above 80%. Have tried resetting phone to factory but no luck. Please suggest. Phone is out of warranty.

It can be a display issue where the display somehow is unable to properly display the light and colours at a given brightness level, now, this can occur even in your pocket or bag where the thin panels in displays get damaged, especially for old displays, or it is a software issue, which cannot be solved even with software updates. In either case, you have to visit an authorized Samsung service center for help. And if the display is damaged, keep around 9 to 1010in hand for replacement.

same happened on my previous A9 pro smartphone
This is a hardware problem and can be solved by replacing display only
this is very common issue in almost all Samsung phones having an amoled display

Temporary fix : Install Oled saver app, keep basic physical brightness 255, pixel filtering off

I've had an S8 and also S10+ and both so called "flagship" phones encountered the same issue. S10+  was less than 2 years when it started happening. All needs to replace displays which costs more than the price I could buy a same second hand model. Such crappy devices. Will never purchase anything ever from Samsung ever again. Will recommend nobody to buy these **bleep** phones too to get into trouble.
