Galaxy S
This issue was existing even before the update like we could nt switch off the auto brightness setting , but after the update the problem is severe like its continuously dimming the display irrespective of the light outside ,I cant either turn off auto brightness, it's happening while I watch videos browsing etc. I had to move the slider always and sometimes i cant even d ok that if the light was too bright outside.

Galaxy S
Go to service menu by dialing *#0*#
Then select the option sensors. You can see an option called light sensor. Check if the value changes according to the lighting. If yes then it's a minor software issue. Update the firmware through Odin or Smart Switch. If not take the phone to service center.
