There is no such an issue with the image shift. It is happening because of lens switching.

As we all know 3x Optical Camera is the smaller one & the 5x Optical Camera is the last bigger sensor. So, if you switch in between these two lenses, it happens only at a specific distance from the object.

I saw the same mechanism in my friend's S23 Ultra & compared side by side with my bare eyes. Beyond that specific distance (where you are experiencing an image shift), switching is so smooth. You can check by yourself by comparing S24 Ultra with previous generations too.

Also, by disabling Camera Assistant (disabling Auto lens switching) & when the phone switches in between 3x to 5x with the same lens (main/5x lens), there is no image shifting.
I tested thoroughly & precisely with my S24 Ultra at different scenarios. There's no issue. This is just another misinformation or misunderstanding.

Enjoy your S24 Ultra & stop spreading misinformation.
1. If this issue is such a big problem why MKBHD, Mrwhosethebose or any other big YouTubers talk about this?
2. Is this issue hard to notice for them?

Only a random person on Twitter (X) talked about this. Think about this.

According to the Twitter guy... this issue (if it exists) should be with the 1st batch of the devices (manufactured in December) in India.
If you are having an issue with just a day old device, it means all the devices that came earlier are defective?

Update: I have also visited a couple of Samsung Stores & tested S24 Plus/Ultra, S23 Ultra, and even a Z Fold 5 having that image shift while zooming in & zooming out in Photo as well as Video mode.

It clearly shows that it's just a lens switching. This is not something new. So, not only does the S24 series have this mechanism, but every other older device, too.

Also, Samsung itself hasn't announced that thing officially.

PS: Samsung Service Centre Managers are not parent Samsung officials. They're just like every other manager in the business market who knows the job but not are not the geeks who knows every little thing.

Dear Samsung Member,

Greetings from Samsung Customer Support!

Thankyou for sharing your valuable feedback, we want to inform you that the Ultra-wide, Wide, and telecamera lenses are physically located in different positions, there is also a difference in view angle, similar to eye parallax.

Thus, changing the zoom ratio leads to a camera lens shift which in turn causes a subtle change in view angle. Also, when changing the zoom ratio quickly, the preview screen may appear slightly disconnected as it takes time to switch between the Ultra-wide, Wide, and telecamera lenses.

If you move the zoom slowly, the screen transition becomes smoother.

Warm Regards,
Samsung Customer Support

I agree with the OP. This seems like a knee jerk reaction to some twitter post. The guy kept posting because he went viral. I checked the Pixel 8 Pro and Nubia Z60. The parallax effect exists and the physics checks out too.

And also because his Service Centre manager gave him DOA just because of lack of technical knowledge.

Samsung India hasn't made it official if the issue exists. I don't believe in any random guy. I need an official source & evidence to support this claim.
