Samsung keyboard lags and has input delay when the other person is typing . . Especially in arabic language.

My phone is s23 ultra and it locks the fps at 60 when typing. My old s20 fe feels much better and smoother to type on.

Im very frustrated considering the amount of money i paid on the new phone only to be left with a slower phone because of "adaptive refresh rate".

I hope you can provide me with a fix because its unacceptable that my old device runs at a stable 120! And this one stutters badly!

Hi

Some troubleshooting steps you can follow include using the default Samsung Keyboard,

optimizing with Device care,

clearing the keyboard’s cache and data,
restarting your phone,
checking for software updates,
For both keyboard and phone.

If these steps do not help, you can also contact Samsung support for further assistance

Also pls look into

1. Disable Power Saving Mode
2. Modify Screen Refresh Rate
3. Avoid Using Experimental Features in the Samsung Keyboard App
4.Reset Samsung Keyboard Settings

The problem is that the adaptive refresh rate locks the keyboard at 60hz, i checked with developer's option "show refresh rate" and the delay i get when someone else is typing also adds on top of it making the typing experience way too slow and tedious... my old s20 fe always runs at 120hz

After conducting some tests, I have come to a conclusion regarding the motion smoothness on the Samsung S23 Ultra. By default, the standard display's motion smoothness is set at 60Hz. However, when you switch to the adaptive mode, the device automatically adjusts the refresh rate up to 120Hz, providing smoother animations and scrolling. This adjustment is dynamic and varies based on the operation and application being used. Unfortunately, there is no option to permanently lock the refresh rate at 120Hz. Instead, the device intelligently adapts the refresh rate to provide the best possible experience based on the current usage. While this feature aims to enhance overall performance, it may have an impact on keyboard responsiveness. If you continue to experience issues with keyboard lag or input delay, I would recommend reaching out to Samsung customer support or visiting an authorized service center for further assistance.

The Samsung S20 FE does not have an LTPO display, so it doesn't benefit from the power-saving advantages of LTPO technology. However, it still has a high-quality display with a 120Hz refresh rate.

On the other hand, the Samsung S23 Ultra features an LTPO display, which enables the adaptive motion smoothness feature. This helps optimize battery usage while maintaining a smooth user experience. The S23 Ultra is known for its exceptional battery performance, and with software optimizations and adaptive motion smoothness, it further enhances battery life without compromising on display quality.

I get your point about optimization and battery saving, but why do i have to suffer with a slow keyboard with input delays just to save battery? And how much does a keyboard use in terms of battery in the first place for them to lock it at 60.

I dont want to save battery and lose on comfort and performance in return, we should decide how apps work and how much refresh rate we need for each app, or they could add a feature that adds an exception to certain applications in terms of adaptive refresh rate just to make things smoother for users. Because we the users are the ones using the device so we should get to decide how it works :)

In your previous comments, I understood that you have already gone through all the troubleshooting options if the issue is specific to your device. If the problem is not only related to adaptive motion smoothness, I suggest informing Samsung about it using the feedback option in the Members app and waiting for a feature update. Additionally, I use both the Samsung keyboard and Gboard with the Arabic keyboard, and I haven't encountered any issues so far. You can also consider contacting Samsung customer care for further assistance.
