That's common in Samsung smartphones. The prices drop after 6-7 months either during a sale or there's a price cut by Samsung

Not even samsung most of the brands does this thing ..
Especially Realme recently does this thing in a worst way

It is still acceptable with realme since they release so many phones every 3-4 months. But with samsung even the flagship phones lose value really fast.

It's the same with iphone also. My frnd bought iphone 11 for 48k 6 months earlier and during sales it was available for 38k. Similarly iphone 12 was being sold for 60k a few months back and now it is available for 49k. So it's fine when apple does it?

Apple never changed the price. It was still selling the iphone 12 for 65K on its official website. It was flipkart which was selling it for 50K during the sale.

It still is 65K on its website

What difference does that make??? The device is available freely on the market for 50k and apple has no issues with it. We are getting legit apple approved devices!! Your point doesn't make sense.
It's a free market. If apple had to keep their prices steady they would have never allowed Flipkart to lower the price. What are you on about mate?

Black market? Any reseller can sell the smartphone below the MRP. The point I was trying to make is that Samsung themselves reduce the MRP within 6-7 months whereas apple seldom reduces the MRP , not until a new model has launched.

Of course any reseller can sell below the mrp, apple has nothing to do with it.

That doesn't make any real world change. So not relevant. Whether it's available on official site or on any other platform is not relevant for the consumer. The point is that for EVERY BRAND the market value..I repeat the market value depreciates over time. It makes absolutely no change whether apple keeps the price same on their website as long as the product is freely available on other platforms for lesser price. So in economical sense the value of the product has diminished.
So if Samsung kept the price same in their website, would you be happy?? What change will that make?? Will any one buy from their site at a lose? It becomes redundant.

Of course the market value decreases. I was comparing the current flagships. Samsung cuts the price of the current flagship series after 6-7 months. So it's never a wise decision to buy it immediately. Apple's current flagships have a consistent price up until the next flagship launch. Iphone 12 got a huge price cut only after the iphone 13 launch whereas samsung officially has reduced the price by 10k even when the next flagship is like 2-3 months away. So it's a huge loss to the customer who bought it during the launch time. That's the whole point I was trying to make
