I've been testing the S20 Fe camera and shockingly found that there is a huge issue in camera app. Whenever we try to switch to 3X telephoto lens it doesn't switch to the telephoto lens, instead it digitally zooms in through the main camera. I recently observed this issue and some times it is a hit and miss and takes long time to switch to 3X telephoto lens. This could be a software issue or a bug. I'm so disappointed because the reason I bought this smartphone is because of the Telephoto lens and now it's useless.

That's because the light-gathering capacity of the telephoto lens is comparatively lesser than the main lens due to the smaller sensor. So, the AI assumes that the main camera will be able to let in more light and take better shots.

However, IMO, the software should let the user decide which lens to choose, instead of automatically selecting a lens. More often than not, the telephoto lens will take better photos even at night than the cropped images of the main lens.

Nope but quality of 3x doing good... so why we have to try blocking the main lens ? As after 3x there is no stability in camera... till 3x it's doing great job... I can understand you speak technical aspects... but my camera is still doing great job .... and it's with me over a year bro...
