Galaxy S
A few months back, I submitted my S21 FE to Samsung service centre to replace my back panel. Before submitting the phone, I turned on maintenance mode. But the service centre guys asked me to remove that as they needed to access the developer mode to do some testing after replacing the back panel.
I also checked that in maintenance mode, developer options can't be accessed. But do they really need to access developer mode to do any kind of repair to the phone? I had to submit the phone with all my data accessible to them. And I was not comfortable with that.

But privacy matters. And that's why Samsung introduced maintenance mode.
