So I moved to android and samsung ecosystem after being in the apple space for a long while. Mainly cause I like onedrive and microsoft apps.
I used smart switch on my S24, to copy the photos and videos from icloud. Now it shows correctly in my Samsung gallery and all things are well.
I tried two things now
1. I turned on onedrive sync and when the photos sync, unfortunately somehow, onedrive changes or updates the date to be today's date, messing up the timeline view.
2. I tried an alternative where I copied the icloud imported folders from my phone's internal storage to onedrive and upload it. Once it started showing in Samsung, they had wrong dates in gallery view but correct on onedrive.

Unfortunately, there are currently no available options or settings within OneDrive to change the dates of these photos back to their original state.
