Galaxy S1. Turn off your device
2. Press and hold the Power button until the device vibrates and the Samsung Galaxy screen appears
3. While the Samsung Galaxy screen is still on, press and hold the Volume down button
4. Continue holding the Volume down button until "Safe mode" appears in the bottom left of the screen
5. The process may take up to 45 seconds.
And check if the screen freezes and restarts in safe mode. If it does there might be a hardware issue which needs an I'm.ediate check from service centre, and if it isn't then there must be a software glitch, consider updating or resetting your phone, but first take back up of your all Important data.
