Hello Guys,

I'm a new Samsung Galaxy user & also this is my first Samsung device which is S23 Ultra. It's been almost 1 month now I'm using this device. I like everything with this except 1.

That is Idle battery drain issue. I normally sleep for 6-7-8hrs a day & when I wake up there'll be 8-10% battery drop.

I find this a bit concerning now. Really concerning to be precise. I repeat I've only this issue with my device & I'll get a good backup while I'm using the device.

I've tried with sleep mode while sleeping, my refresh rate is adaptive, performance mode is Light, screen resolution is FHD+ & I've put almost 60 apps in deep sleep, all software & apps are upto date but still no change.

Please do help me with any solutions.🙏🏽

I have done all these experiments, I don't use fast charging myself and I get nine to 10 hours of backup per day on normal charging.

You can test it on your mobile by doing normal and fast charging, you will know that the battery which was charged by normal charging will have more backup.

As a rule, after each major Android/OneUI upgrade, I factory reset the phone. And once in every 3 months clear the cache partition.

Overnight battery drain usually related to backups. Usually all automatic backups ( Samsung cloud, Google, WhatsApp and others). So you need a better internet connection to make sure the backups don't hang / finish faster. Further, still 5G networks are not efficient and power hungry. So you better disable 5G when you don't need it. And one last thing, make sure Google Play Services app is up to date. That also drains the battery. Periodically check if any third-party apps are draining your battery (usually Facebook does that).

I experienced the same and had the bad habit of charging my phone frequently. The phone must connect to the charger only when the battery is between 15 to 20% and disconnect when it becomes 100%. Keeping longer will make the battery to run charging cycles which will affect its life span.

Thanks for the advice, I'm also charging it from 15-20% all the time... I'll put 10 more minutes after reaching 100%

Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try to address the idle battery drain issue:

1.Check Battery Usage: Go to Settings > Battery > Battery usage to see which apps or services are consuming the most battery while your device is idle. This can help identify any specific apps or processes that may be causing the drain.

2. Optimize Battery Settings: In the Battery settings, you can also find options to optimize battery usage. Enable features like Adaptive Battery or Battery Saver mode to help conserve battery life when your device is idle.

3. Background Apps: Review and close any unnecessary apps running in the background. You can do this by accessing the Recent Apps menu (usually accessed by tapping the Recent Apps button or swiping up from the bottom of the screen) and swiping away apps you're not actively using.

4. Check for Software Updates: Ensure that your device's software is up to date by checking for any available updates in the Settings app. Sometimes, software updates include optimizations and bug fixes that can help improve battery life.

5. Reset App Preferences: Go to Settings > Apps > More options (three dots) > Reset app preferences. This can reset app permissions and settings, which may help resolve any issues related to background processes draining the battery.
