Hello Guys,

I'm a new Samsung Galaxy user & also this is my first Samsung device which is S23 Ultra. It's been almost 1 month now I'm using this device. I like everything with this except 1.

That is Idle battery drain issue. I normally sleep for 6-7-8hrs a day & when I wake up there'll be 8-10% battery drop.

I find this a bit concerning now. Really concerning to be precise. I repeat I've only this issue with my device & I'll get a good backup while I'm using the device.

I've tried with sleep mode while sleeping, my refresh rate is adaptive, performance mode is Light, screen resolution is FHD+ & I've put almost 60 apps in deep sleep, all software & apps are upto date but still no change.

Please do help me with any solutions.🙏🏽

Hello, welcome, is your fast charging enabled or disabled? If it is enabled, it should be disabled. When charging, you should see a green circle, not a blue one.

I think it's enabled. But how will it only affect the idle battery backup. While using I'm getting one of the best SoT. Can u explain to me?

Doing so will extend your battery life as fast charging is not good for battery life The device may take longer while charging but the battery backup is great

No, it's not true - it's misconception. There is no evidence that fast charging affects the battery life or drains the battery faster. Charging should stop once it reaches 100%, for that battery protection should be enabled.

When you use the phone on fast charging, you will realize this only after a couple of years There is a lot of evidence that the faster the battery is charged, the faster it will drain

I bought my S8 in 2017 and always used fast charging. Even today, it gives me about 4 hours SoT - that's more than good for a 6 years old phone.
And with super fast charging, still my S22+ gives me 5-6 hours SoT on a normal day.

This is a good reading about this subject from a reliable source:

It's also related to battery drain because the faster the battery charges the faster it drains. Please disable it and let me know after experimenting.
