Hello Samsung community,
My Samsung S23 fe got stolen recently, I had logged into my Samsung SmartThings and locked the device remotely and secured it. It was having an eSIM and I was able to track the location of the Phone , so I had started following my device location but the location was 20km away from where I was and it is moving. I had decided to reset my device, I was logged into Find my Device by Google and initiated a reset request and post the reset request I was not able to see the location in Find my Device by Google. Even after the reset the device was able to take incoming calls[I tried calling it multiple times and it was still ringing] and I had extend battery life option in Samsung SmartThings so the WhatsApp calls were not available because all the background stops running once you extend battery life. After all this I had seen last location of mobile 2hrs after reset request. I dont understand how can I see its location on Samsung smartThings when I had initiated the reset from Find my Device google[ Google stopped updating the location] but Samsung showed the location I was confused but the police told to block the SIM so the device location was not updated after blocking the SIM. My only question is if the reset was done how was I able to the location on Samsung smart Thing but not Google find my help. 🙂 Your information regarding my query will be really helpful.

Dear Samsung Member,

Greetings from Samsung Customer Support!

As per your query, we want to inform you that after reset the device you can't track your device location through Smart things becuase your device whole data will be removed after resetting the device.

After I had initiated reset request from Google Find my Device post 1hr or 2hr it still showed on the Smart things after that I had blocked my SIM and reset my password which caused sign and the device went inactive. My only query is that when I had initiated the reset and wasnt to track the location on Google why was able to see the device location on SmartThings. Please help me to clarify my query, I had reached out the customer care via multiple mails but got no response.
Thank you.
