Galaxy S23: Fingerprint ‘icon missing’ or ‘not working’ issue fix coming soon

A common issue of missing Fingerprint icon on the lock screen post-June update installation was reported by Galaxy S23 Series users.

Due to compatibility issues related to fingerprints in the latest software (WF5) of the Galaxy S23, the fingerprint icon may appear slowly or not appear on the lock screen. If the icon doesn’t appear on the lock screen, users may face issue unlocking the device using biometric authentication.

The issue can be temporarily fixed by activating the “Fingerprint Recognition on Off Screen” function. If the fingerprint icon appears slowly or is not visible on the Galaxy S23 lock screen, this setting will improve the overall user experience. 

How to Enable 👉🏻 Settings > Security & Privacy > Biometrics > Fingerprint > Screen off – Enable (ON)

Samsung will soon roll out firmware update to fix the affected functionality.
