As per my research on the internet I think this might be useful:

Don't charge the phone while updating.. charge the phone before updating and let it cool down if it's even slightly warm..

It is found that green lines and pink lines are because of overheating during updates, damaging the screen connectors or some fragile parts of the screen.. so charging while updating will lead to overheating..

Also it's summer time in India.. So we don't want to update our phones in scorching heat.. May be indoors within controlled temperatures sounds like an ideal place to update our devices.. And that's why we normally see a pop up saying if we want to update it overnight..

Now that we know this, we can try and avoid this by charging the phone beforehand and then update when the device is completely cool to touch..

Also, keeping the device flat on a wooden surface without any cover helps the device to remain cooler..

I know all this sound BS and we dont deserve all of this.. but untill there is any clarity about green lines/Pink lines that how they are going to be dealt with by Samsung.. we can just try our best to avoid such situations..

Needless to say backup your data before updating.

Also Samsung please push the One UI 7 update already we are waiting for it since a long time now..
