Got my S23 Ultra . Just realised today while watching a movie on Prime Video app that it is only showing me the HD version when I play it (the movie has HDR /UHD versions on the main page).

Tried clearing data and cache, uninstalling and reinstalling the app. Nothing seems to work.

My display is set at maximum resolution (WQHD+).

I distinctly remember being able to play HDR videos on my previous Samsung devices.

Any ideas or suggestions? I am from India and living in Qatar if that helps.

Update: I took it up with Amazon customer service and they didn't have a solution. They have raised a ticket and will update me once the issue is resolved.

But not

1st you need to check prime video app settings where you can choose the quality of videos streamed ... sometimes the videos are playing on less quality by default ... if that's not the issue and your sure your screen resolution is set at WQHD+.. try out playing a video of a higher resolution on YouTube.. if that looks great then it's probably the prime app issue

Hello,

Prime Video recommends a minimum download speed of 1 Mbps for SD content and 5 Mbps for HD content.

Could you please check that your internet speed is sufficient?

Prime video mobile app is limited to HD(1080) even on best quality. Most probably because Ultra is 1440p at qhd+.
