Also, I am running on QHD settings with high performance mode all the time.

my way of keeping it smooth
1 always on high performance mode full resolution
2 auto restart on every Sunday at 3am
3 animations completely off in developers options
4 closing all apps at night before going to sleep
5 full charging every morning. No over charging.
6 display mode on "adaptive display".
7 maximum ecommerce apps in sleep mode in battery management
8 disabled many unwanted apps such as Google photots, Google play, Facebook, Google+, news feed, bixby(I'm using Google voice assistant), etc..
9 default launcher.
10 updating basic and system apps regularly
11 default keyboard

Tip: Use paid version of Nova Launcher - it's way better and customizable not to mention faster than stock launcher.

restart ur note once a week..Don't overload it with apps..keep frequently used app open and minimised..reset ur note after major software upgrade
