Galaxy Note1. Must Use the device care inbuilt features available on your settings. Go through optimization, cleaning memory and others.
2. Uninstall all the third party apps which you dont use and which claim to save battery like the battery saver apps.
3. Give your phone a shutdown. Turn it off while night or when not in use. Or you can go through the auto reastart feature available in device care.
4. Clean chace, turn off always on display, notification for unwanted apps etc.
There all will definitely work, if unluckyily it fails then limit your CPU to 70% or 60% in settings or battery saver menu.

Galaxy Notefor battery backup try these tips
you can either wait for next stable update or follow some advice and tips I could give you
1 use adaptive battery
2 use medium power save
3 prevent background apps from consuming data in battery device care
4 put unused apps to sleep
5 reduce some permissions given to apps that are not necessary for running of app
6 use dark mode
7 use location when necessary as in maps Google search or any location based app else constant use loads battery causing heating
8 prevent network inputs like NFC bluetooth WiFi from working together too many network inputs will cause heating and lagging
9 while charging keep phone idle
10 turn off auto sync use when necessary
11 reset phone settings once clear cache
12 if nothing works once try factory reset
13 in battery device care use auto optimization
14 kindly AODisplay turn off
15 don't keep unused apps uninstall them
16 use accubattery to know exact health of battery
17 use Google go apps they load faster and use less data and lesser load on battery
I hope this helps till new updates come till then try these tips they could help to reduce battery heat up drain and loading so that it smoothly works

- Perform Battery Optimization: Settings > Select Device Maintenance/Device Care > Optimize > Optimize all options like Battery, Storage and Memory
- Adjust screen timeout settings: Settings> Display> Screen timeout> Select minimum screen timeout.
