After recent upgrades my fingerprint started working slow and now it's completely dead.
I did factory reset, cache clearing everything.
It doesn't let me add a fingerprint. When i try, it says make sure your sensor area is clean and dry. Then it says press harder and nothing happens.
I also don't use any screen protection as well. Touch sensitivity is on

Can anyone suggest anything else to try or do you also observe issues like this?

Thansk in advance

It's manufacturing defect is Samsung mobile , can be seen in many Samsung phone.

If your phone is under warranty then go to nearby customer care orelse sell it at cashify and never buy Samsung mobile again.

Same case with my note 20 ultra as well. I thought its just me and sensor has gone faulty. But now I think its something related to the last update which has damaged the fp sensor.
I took my phone to samsung care and they said they will have to replace full screen folder and it will cost me 22k INR. My product is under warranty but due to a small dent on the back it will not be covered under warranty. How ridiculous they are.

I went to Samsung care 1hr back and same happened with me.
They said full screen 22k has to be replaced and showed me small dent because of which they cannot consider warranty.
I am **bleep** sure recent upgrade broke it. Because without doing anything it stopped working and certainly there was no damage

100% even I am sure about it. Recent update broke this because my dent is 6 months old and fingerprint sensor stopped working when my phone was working absolutely fine. Even now screen is as good as new.

Last week my brother's watch 4 classic stopped working. It is dead.
He was coming home in light rainy day and it could not withstand. They say water damage is not covered in warranty and pay 15k. It's 1 month old device.
Ridiculous
My 7 yes old asus zenwatch 2 survived that rain but galaxy watch 4 doesn't

Same issue with me! Right after the Aug'22 update my fingerprint scanner became faulty!

Called in and they mentioned it might be because of screen protector and all those **bleep** (I've been using protector for ~1 year with no issues!!!).

Now they're telling me to head down to the service centre? But if the issue is with the patch I'm sure they could do something about it!

Even I am expecting a new software update fix for it. But I am little scared what if that software update damaged the fingerprint sensor hardware itself. There is a possibility and samsung has done such things in the past where a number of Samsung note 9 Displays turned Green because of a software update. Afterall its all about voltage.

This could happen or already happened, that's the main worry.

I took it to samsung care they flashed the stock software again and it didn't work. So I think, hardware has gone faulty now.
