Yes. The screen can get scratches easily.

It has pre applied protecter it doesn't have sratches

That doesnt prevent glass shattering.
The only problem is tempered glass doesnt stick well until a glue is applied.

If it has a screen guard already on it as mentioned above, then go for a flipcover.

I use my 7 year old device with flipcover and a tempered glass, zero damages and no scratches on screen.

If you generally take good care of phone, then you don't need it. I have note 10+ . It has been 2 years now and I never used screen protector. I have 1 or 2 very minor scratches on screen which I can only see under direct light.

Screen protectors are safe to avoid unnecessary damage to the display and it will cost more to change the display in the future. So as to protect my display I bought a screen protector from Gadgetshieldz and it was good as I expected. Now I don't have to worry about my display from scratches.
